When you're painting a car, good masking tape is one of those things you don't want to compromise on. The last thing you need is to spend time carefully masking up a panel, only for the tape or masking paper to start coming away halfway through painting.
I've used Q1 masking tape on my own restoration projects and find it reliable for general automotive masking. It sticks well to clean surfaces, gives you a clean edge and, importantly, stays where you've put it while you're working.
For me, that's what you want from a masking tape. You shouldn't have to keep stopping to check whether the edges are lifting or your masking paper is about to fall down.
It's particularly useful when you're masking panels, windows, trims and other areas of a vehicle before painting, and it's the sort of workshop consumable I always like to have plenty of.
I've used plenty of different masking tapes over the years, and I've found that spending a little more on a tape you can rely on is well worth it. There's nothing worse than having to re-mask a car because cheap tape has let you down.
